Mac’s or PC’s?

For the ones with minimum knowledge about gadgets, price difference between normal PC’s and Mac’s is certainly infuriating.

And it definitely is a debatable issue when you learn that an Apple macbook costs around $600 more than a Dell notebook with very similar specifications, especially when you are on a budget.

It wasn’t any different with me. When my $700 Dell Inspiron gave up after 6 years of usage, I wasn’t really sure whether I should buy a Mac this time. However, I ended up buying an expensive MacBook Pro, and realized why it’s costlier than others in the market.

Brand Emergence

Apple, with its high-tech gadgets and minimum advertising, have created a reputation that represents elegance, technical evolution, and simplicity.

People started becoming aware about this remarkable brand when they experienced the audio quality, ease of functionality, and sleek looks of iPod, that captured the market quicker than anticipated. Then came Mac that revolutionized the way people used personal computers, followed by the latest iPad.

The brand is very popular now, and any move, good or bad, attracts media attention instantly. If a new gadget is about to be launched, most people around the globe expect it to be a revolutionary idea. Others who loathe Mac, and post infuriating comments on the web, actually contribute to Mac’s popularity in a big way.

Trendy looks, advanced features, and it’s popularity have made Apple a high-demand brand.

Mac OXS Operating System

With minor faults, Windows Operating System is considered to be a bit complicated for many. On the other hand, Mac OSX Operating has received several compliments by experts for its user friendly features. For me, however, it was quite difficult to switch from windows to Mac. But after a while, it became evident why Mac is superior to Windows, or any other operating system for this case.

Fewer Viruses

One of the reasons why windows are more prone to virus attacks is, they capture a larger market share, and most viruses are targeted to damage them. Most of these viruses don’t work on Mac. Besides, OSX Operating System detects malware and viruses very easily. Thus, the need to buy an anti-virus protection disappears if you buy Mac.

PC’s or Macs?

Most of us are comfortable working with PC’s only because we haven’t had an opportunity to work with Mac. If you want a computer with better user-interface, advanced features, and improved looks, Apple’s Mac is certainly worth it. However, a Dell or HP personal computer would be preferable if all you want is get your work done.
